Why Plant New Churches?

Despite our rich heritage and history of churches being established and revivals taking place in years past, Nova Scotia has emerged in the 21st century as one of the least Gospel saturated communities in North America. Couple that with the fact that Halifax (just under 500,000) is now the second fastest growing city in Canada means that we are in desperate need of gospel centred churches more than ever.

Planting churches is one of the most effective means of reaching people with the gospel, church growth, and discipling believers. The best church planting strategy, we believe, is churches planting churches. As such, we are committed to making the planting of churches part of the DNA of LifeBridge Church and one of our four core values.

As Jesus said ‘go’ (Matt 28:19-20) it is our conviction to be His witness (Acts 1:8), proclaim the Gospel (Luke 24:46-47), and see His Kingdom come. We desire to see churches planted and the Gospel preached wherever we go.

A vigorous and continuous approach to church planting is the only way to guarantee an increase in the number of believers, and is one of the best ways to renew the whole body of Christ.
