Despite our rich heritage and history of churches being established and revivals taking place in years past, Nova Scotia has emerged in the 21st century as one of the least Gospel saturated communities in North America. Couple that with the fact that Halifax (just under 500,000) is now the second fastest growing city in Canada means that we are in desperate need of gospel centred churches more than ever.
Planting churches is one of the most effective means of reaching people with the gospel, church growth, and discipling believers. The best church planting strategy, we believe, is churches planting churches. As such, we are committed to making the planting of churches part of the DNA of LifeBridge Church and one of our four core values.
As Jesus said ‘go’ (Matt 28:19-20) it is our conviction to be His witness (Acts 1:8), proclaim the Gospel (Luke 24:46-47), and see His Kingdom come. We desire to see churches planted and the Gospel preached wherever we go.

The purpose of this ministry is to help potential planters discover ministry placement (church plant or other ministry focus), as well as engage young men and women in order to help them discover their ministry callings in church planting/pastoral/other full-time ministry through an intentional internship. The Ministry Resident/Pastor must first apply to the Board of Elders of LifeBridge and agree to an initial interview.
The purpose is to form apprenticeship/internship opportunities in order that the Planter be prepared as much as possible before planting by providing them:
The Church Planting Intern must first apply to the Board of Elders of LifeBridge and agree to an initial interview and or have spent an initial 12 months as a Pastoral Resident and been recommended by the Board of Elders of LifeBridge.
Would you consider giving financially to help us make this vision become a reality in Atlantic Canada? Your financial assistance would provide pastoral residents/church planting interns with a stipend, as well as help to provide a variety of resources related to church planting/pastoral residencies.
LifeBridge contributes 10% of the church’s monthly tithes towards church plant ministry development.
If you are interested in more information about becoming a Church Planting Intern or Ministry Resident, please email us.
